I waited with bated breath,
Standing at the window.
Each car that passed by,
I hoped it would be his.
For months,
I only heard a voice,
Saw a face,
But never could I touch him.
Today I wait,
To meet ,
To speak,
To hear him say my name .
We were engaged,
Just a few days.
And now I would finally see him,
Face to face.
The phone rings ,
I hear him say,
Please direct me your way.
My heart starts pounding,
My breath feels short.
My excitement doesn't see bounds!
He steps out and looks at me.
Oh yes my heart did skip a beat!
